Deb Delman’s bio:

Deb Delman began living in small, alternative spaces at age 13, when she convinced her folks to let her move into the basement and turn it into a funky teen haven. In the 30+years since, she’s transformed and lived in a variety of small spaces, from a yurt in Colorado with no running water and wood heat to a barn in SE PDX, a garage that she remodeled into a cabin-like ADU and the ADU that her husband Kol Peterson and she helped design and build. In July 2013, Deb and Kol opened the first tiny house hotel in the country, Caravan- The Tiny House Hotel in NE PDX. Before opening Caravan, Deb worked with refugee youth, co-founded a non-profit called The Pangaea Project that engaged at-risk youth in local and global social justice projects, and was a social studies high school teacher.

Kol Peterson’s bio:

Kol Peterson built his own Accessory Dwelling Unit, or "ADU", in NE Portland in 2011 after completing Earth Advantage’s Sustainable Homes Professional course. He blogged about the experience from design to completion, and has since been teaching ADU classes to homeowners, real estate professionals, builders and designers Kol is a managing editor for AccessoryDwellings.org, owns Caravan– The Tiny House Hotel with his wife Deb, and organizes the City-wide ADU Tour. Kol spent ten years working at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the US Forest Service, and has earned a Masters in Design and the Environment from the Harvard Graduate School of Design.
